If a member cannot use a week’s share, we invite all members to send any family member, friend or co-worker to use their share. Send them over, we will welcome them and walk them through the selection of their share. If a member cannot give away the week’s share, we encourage the donation of the share to prevent waste. Members can choose to donate back to the farm or to their local food bank. Please contact us for donation ideas so that our tasty, nutritious fruits and veggies can be enjoyed by others. The ReFarmery will happily deliver an unused share to Elverta/Rio Linda Food Closet on your behalf.
-A note on refunds:
In the CSA farm model membership funds are immediately reinvested in the farm in the form of supplies, feed, labor and utilities needed at the beginning of the season. Farms are therefore unable to offer refunds for shares. However, our members are friends and family and in extraordinary circumstances, a partial refund can be issued at a prorated amount based upon the number of weeks remaining in a share, less a $35.00 non-refundable fee. If you find yourself struggling, please contact us.
We are all in this together and we will help however we can.
-Feeding the Hungry in Sacramento:
By some estimates more than 240,000 people live on the brink of hunger in our county. In 2018 we at The ReFarmery are increasing our efforts to combat food insecurity in our community. We will be stepping up our own donations and attempting to facilitate donations from others. Please stop by our market stand and contribute whatever you can to the crate marked “food closet donations” All of your donations will be delivered by our staff to the Rio Linda/Elverta Food Closet.
Please help. Too many of our neighbors do not have enough to eat.
